Knucklehead97 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Making Jerky! I've always been a huge fan of jerky and a couple months ago a guy at work was talking about how he makes it. Couple days later I'm buying a dehydrator, Japanese meat cutting knife, and about 4 pounds of rump roast and here is the turnout! For my first time I'm very happy with it. It's delicious, not to tough. Used a simple teriyaki pepper marinade and let it soak for a good 40 hours. After marinade and meat I'm in it about 15$ and I got close to (if not over) a pound and a half of jerky. Slicing the meat and preparing the marinade is actually quite addicting!
jpdriver1 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I use my wife's nuwave oven for jerky, each loading takes about 3 hrs and yes it can be addictive :brows:
Knucklehead97 Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 Took 5 hours for the thick pieces in this batch, thin ones about 4. Not bad at all considering I came home on my lunchbreak and loaded it up, then went back to work and came home to almost complete jerky! :D
