Grease

I need to find a canister of relative bearing grease. It is used for the front wheel bearings.

 

If anyone has one let me know.

I prefer true bearing grease over relative; it won't wash away over time like the relative crap. I think TSC sells it.

Will the true bearing grease allow a more direct rotation with little or no deviation? I thought relative worked better.

For sealed high-speed bearings, like turbines, relative grease will prevent excess deviation better. But for wheel bearings, your original question, true bearing grease definitely allows "truer" direct rotation.

 

I learned all about the properties of lubricants while in the Navy. Relative bearing grease was only used by those who didn't know any better. Frequency grease can also be used for wheel bearings with good results.

Yeah, I'm surprised some other grease experts have not yet commented. I've never tried the Frequency grease, I'll have to look it up.

I prefer the hypo-turbulator grease for its higher lubricity, negative deviation and non-corrosive properties. You can gain 2 to 3 MPG due to the decreased rolling resistance. It is fairly difficult to find at the chain stores but you can order it from most mil-spec or aviation supply houses.

Magsaysay Street!  Ah - memories. No relative grease needed there- everything is pre-lubed. :rotfl2:

 

I was back there a couple of years ago; it's really changed now. Since Subic became a freeport, it's all legit businesses now. It sucks, in a bad way...........

Supposedly Subic is being re-opened by their navy in response to the South China Sea escalations. I wonder if USN will get shore leave there again....

They have been doing fleet exercises there all along and USN ships (and others) layover there during the exercises. Just last year a Marine boot took a lovely lady to a hotel just off Magsaysay one night while on liberty. When they started to get down to business the Marine discovered the lady was a bakla and he ended up killing her.

 

As far as I know he's still in a PI jail and State is trying to get him out. I guess Marines don't know how to tell the difference. Lack of training and/or experience I suppose........

Things jiggling where things should not jiggle. Occupational hazard (or lack of training as you surmised). I had heard about the incident (I believe Pvt. Pemberton said he/she '...fell in the shower...') but it died off quickly from the newscasts.
