Adding an aftermarket tachometer

Recommended Posts

Paycheck time in 1 hour :D

I'm looking at a tach, I'm teaching a friend (ex-gf but a good friend still) how to drive the MJ (JeepCo knows who I'm refering to) and figured that she could benefit from a tach, as she knows how to read one properly.

I'm getting a cheapie Canadian Tire 2-3" tach and mounting it where the clock would go. Making a small bracket so I can screw it into the 90° bar there.

Now my question, how and where do you attach the wire so the tach reads.

according to the diagrams, it's green w/tr. it's the same wire that runs from your ignition coil to the firewall harness.

second image. sorry for not rotating them. it's the first part of second image. (top or left if it were the right way up) trace the line from the tach and you'll see that it shows as a Green w/tr meaning green with some sort of stripe (white-ish I believe)
