trinity5007
OK so I got a jeep Comanche its so not stock anymore but I need new shocks for it. However I'm having a hard time figuring out how long they need to be. When I first got the truck it had 215/75r15's on it they sat up in the wheel wells. Now it has p235/75r15's and there is about 8-9 inches from the top of the tires to the bottom of the fender flares. So far I have been running stock shocks but I keep maxing them out. So I want to fund some better ones. Any help would be great thnxs.
trinity5007
Here is what,I have done to it since I got it: Was originally 2wd converted to 4x4 Dana 35 front Dana 30 rear manual 5sped ax15 trans with a np231 transfer case. Front stock coil spring swapped out to 78 ford f100 coils (I know what is a ford part doing on a jeep but they are twice the size of original and still give an amazing ride on road and off road) has 1 1/2 spacers on top of the coils Rear leafs added to make 8 total per side whith rearching. Rear shackles extended by 4 inches. Engine is renix 4.0 but getting upgraded exhaust to header style to improve flow. Electrical upgraded. Stock alternator swapped out for a 110 amp. Second 110 amp alternator added in for better power output. 5 forward facing roof mounted lights with 2 fog lights on the bumper. 4 rear facing roof mounted lights for night rides and auxiliary lights. Truck is a late month 1989. But is currently off the road because I'm in the process of rebuilding it.
HOrnbrod
Measure your ride existing ride height using this method: http://comancheclub.com/topic/11098-how-to-measure-ride-hight/ Then measure the "at rest" distance between the rear and front shock mounting points and report back. HOrnbrod
Need to know the below too, probably after you get your springs on? Then measure the "at rest" distance between the rear and front shock mounting points and report back.
