CommaComanche
I just found a gem of a rusted out Comanche. The body is completely dead as is the frame. There is more rust than paint on it. But the motor, transmission, and interior are in fantastic condition with the last 35K miles or so of maintenance records in tact to show regular full service performed on it. The only issue I can see with it that is leaving me a little weary is the fact that the truck is 2wd. My truck is 4. The donor trucks motor is the 1988 straight six with a manual transmission mounted to it. Will this transmission work with 4x4? Would the transfer case from the powertrain I pulled out of my truck work with it? My truck is a 86 4cyl automatic 4x4. Thanks for the replies all :)

Minuit
You will not be able to easily swap the donor's drivetrain into your '86 for a number of reasons. The 2wd transmission is 2wd specific unless you feel like disassembling the whole thing and swapping parts in from a 4wd transmission (and it will have the BA-10, not worth it anyway). Your transfer case will be different also (you either have an NP207 or NP228 - the correct TC for the donor would be an NP231). It would be a lot of work.
