Jeepjeff859
So for my 4.0 swap I decided to get the steering column from the jeep I took the wiring harness from it was a 1995 Cherokee but since it was at a junkyard the key is missing, I ordered a replacement cylinder but is it possible to remove the key cylinder without the key so I can install the new one
Rockfrog
Yes, I did it on a 92 XJ auto tilt column with the same problem, it currently resides in my 88 5spd MJ now. You need to disassemble past the cams and there is a pin to release the cylinder you need to push in. Then the lock cylinder slides out.
