Ahh, the old gun post. This will draw lots of opinons.

 

For a .22 plinking pistol, I have a Ruger MKII Gov Slab side 6 7/8", super gun. Love it. I own to many guns to list, really. Still like the old Ruger to plink with.

As for the comment why you need a pistol camping, well bears arent an issue in the east coast (unless you get between a momma and cub) so I would say wild dogs and people are the main concerns.

If you don't know why these two issues are of concern, give it time, later in life you will understand.

Side note, I too shoot bow, I have a traditional recurve, 70lb, no sights.

My favorite hunting season is Muzzleloader, again, traditonal flint lock smoke pole.

Tracker, when I retire I would love to get into a game warden or park ranger job. I am a gov employee now, hope I can slide over when the time comes.
