jimoshel
Back in 1937 my future wife's grand dad, a well driller, built hisself a welder. Using a Hobart 200 amp welder and a '34 Ford flat head mounted on a skid. He died in 1961. Was raising the mast on a rig and hit the overhead power line. Instant electricution. My father-in-law, his son inherited it. In 1997 my father-in-law died and I inherited it. This morn I went out to weld up a bumper for my neighbor and the dern thing wouldn't weld. Engine ran fine but no spark from the welder. Just can't find quality tools anymore. I'm going to check the brushes first before I scrap it. :hmm:

jpdriver1
sounds like either bad brushes or like a generator, it needs to be re-energized.
