jimoshel
Isn't the piston and rod the same for all 4.0's ? Or was the '88-91 different?
sinkrun
I think from what I have seen and read there different on the early ones.
jimoshel
I've got a '88 and a '94 sitting side by side. I could just go drop the pans, pull the heads and compare them, but that's a lot of bother just for a little knowledge.
sinkrun
When I look at new online they list 96 and up the same not sure about the lower years I will have to do some looking. Also I may have a line on one from A local jeeper so don't take anything apart yet.

jimoshel
Belay that. I have a 1995 piston and rod. It appears they are different from the 96. I can't find any info on them. Maybe you can. Jim
