Jaxso32 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 1988 mj pioneer 4.0 5 speed. Just did the serpintine belt and came across an issue... I noticed that 2 of the bolts on the power steering pump were missing. The long one that is supposed to be a tensioner and the lower of the 2 in the back? Could someone please tell me what size bolts these are? And any way I could tension the belt while I wait to get new bolts.
jerseYJoe Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 don't know the length but my 86 2.5 had the nuts missing that i just noticed yesterday. They were m10 x1.5 i think.
HOrnbrod Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 The long adjuster bolt is M8x1.25x120mm, NLA from the dealer. McMaster-Carr does carry it though. Fastenal might also. If the adjuster bolt is missing you will probably need the collar nut it screws into also. Part number 53002915. Get it here: http://stores.zmjeeps.com/collar-adjusting/
Jaxso32 Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Was going to the junkyard anyways today so I grabbed one of the collars and bolts got home and took mine apart turns out it had the collar the bolt was just broken off. Switched em out went to tighten it down and I think the junkyard one split. I'll find out tomorrow if I can get the broken bolt out of the other one hopefully I can or back to the junkyard I guess

Jeep Driver Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Those nuts and bolts are the same ones used on up through the 2005 Grand........I cannot believe you could not find a good one.

Most that are left either have had the engine or power steering pump pulled already I think there might have been one maybe 2 others left there? But hopefully I can get the bolt out of the original one so I can have tension on the belt
