Sway Bar Bushings Advice

Recommended Posts

I need to replace my front sway bar bushings and was wondering what you guys went with when doing yours. I know there are rubber, polyurethane, and I also saw these greaseable bushings with hold-down brackets that have zerk fittings so you can grease them periodically.

I put Moog sway bar links on mine, plus Moog bushings on the bar. My old ones were rotten so it handled tighter after I was done. Cheap, not rubber (I think it was polymer plastic or something). They fit and work great. I put a little synthetic brake slide grease on mine since it was safe for use with rubber. I see no need for the greasable ones for my driving.

If you're buying bushings for the end links, you should just buy new end links. My nuts snapped off because I had bought bushings already. I had to return them and buy the links.

Thanks for this. I remember reading your post about these somewhere and couldn't find it again or who posted it. I will be getting these Moog bushings for my sway bar.

I'm considering getting the sway bar end link kit as well, but was thinking I might as well spend the extra money and get some quick disconnects instead if I'm going to be replacing them. Anybody have any positive experiences with a good quick disconnect?
