The manual window handle in my 88 spins and you can hear gears turning but the window does not go up or down. Does anyone know what part needs to be replaced and have a link to the part before I tear my door apart?

Pretty likely the window regulator is shot. Good luck finding a reasonably priced one anywhere online (prices go as high as 200 bucks for the thing) so I'd say your best bet would be a junkyard. Any 84-96 Cherokee with manual windows will have the part you need.

 

I lucked out and found an almost brand new regulator in a '95 XJ that cost me 10 bucks and 30 minutes to pull. If you find one that's bolted in instead of riveted in, chances are it's been replaced.
