MJ front axle joint

Recommended Posts

Remove brake caliper and rotor.

Remove axle nut, 36mm socket.

Loosen the three bolts behind the knuckle that secures the unit bearing, loosen about 2 turns. Tap the heads of the bolts until the unit bearing releases from the knuckle. Remove the three bolts.

Remove unit bearing.

Axle will now slide out.

Replace U-joint.

Yep, but more often than not, the hub will not come off easily. I had to place a socket between the hub and axle, turn the engine on and use the power steering to pop it off. I don't recommend that, though. Alot can go wrong if your not careful, especially if your on jack stands.
