Knucklehead97
Hey guys. I'm fixing to swap from a closed to open cooling system and I found this 2 row radiator on Ebay for a good deal. I wanted you guys opinions on it before purchase.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Row-BRAND-NEW-Aluminum-Radiator-Jeep-Cherokee-Comanche-2-5-4-0-/170857355687?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AJeep%7CModel%3ACherokee&hash=item27c7e459a7&vxp=mtrThe reason I have went to Ebay is because I'm on a budget, but would still like good quality products. I have about $130 for the swap and that's including the price of the overflow bottle, hoses, and I'd love to also get a curved blade fan to go with it. I just want my truck to be able to run without spewing fluid everywhere or melting a MAP hose. Thanks
danbyrambler
Well . . . . Not such a good deal, IMO - - - 2 things - It's not a 2 row (Read the fine print/description) Just a core thickness of 1.25 inch - - The other is alum core & plastic ends - Not a biggie to me - I've used this type for years with no probs - - - - - - - - Anyway, Advance Auto has the same radiator for 99.99 - PN # 432268 & their discount code TRT41 $40 0ff $100+ will work if you add something cheap like $1.49 D Grease #09980 to the order - Order total of 101.48 now becomes $61.48 plus tax & has the benny of easy to use warranty, God forbid - - If the local AA store doesn't have the rad in stock they'll have to get it 1'st before the online discount for in store pickup will work - If no local AA store the order total will have to be $125 minimum for free home ship & the $40 off - - Easy enuff to do by adding upper & lower rad hoses for instance - (#s D71321 E71320) - $126.46 total would become $86.46 plus tax- still a good deal me thinks - - - For the rest of the stuff, T-stat-H hoses & such, I'd order separately & use code trt30 - 30% off up $50 total discount per order - - - - AdvanceAutoRockPepO'rile discounts/special offers at http://www.retailmenot.com/view/advanceautoparts.com
Jeep Driver
$65 to your door is pretty damn cheap. However, as danby said, the AA return policy is hard to beat. As to the AA discount deal........here in E TN we have 10% sales tax and if the AA store does not stock it cannot be ordered for pick up online.....you'll just have to check. danbyrambler
I've run into the problem with not in stock at my local store & have found 2 ways around it - - They can get whatever from another store/warehouse & as soon as it hits their inv the online works - Inv update happens at departure from sending location - If has to be ordered from mfg/supplier then do it, return it when arrives & it's on their inv & again, online works - - I've done both ways at their suggestion/blessing - I used my cell on the order return thing while still in the store - Great if not inna hurry - - - The total sales tax here in MO is 10% +- a little depending upon community - However, if there is no store in your MO zip then no tax - works great for my GreenAcres type rural area & the route I always take for anything qualifying for free S&H. Timeless
Alot of those ebay radiators are made in China and are of pretty poor quality. Some folks get lucky though. Ebay radiator has a 14 day return policy...and what seems like no actual warranty. Here is a CSF single row, same core thickness with a 2 year warranty for about the same money: http://www.amazon.com/CSF-1193-3251-Radiator/dp/B002M161CQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405956203&sr=8-2&keywords=csf+radiator+jeep+comanche

I'm trying to convert to an open system  But I have never heard of those coupon codes before. I think I'm bookmarking that website lol. And to the CSF radiator, it says the core depth is 1 1/6" instead of the 1 1/4" that I've always seen otherwise :dunno: How about this one though? http://www.amazon.com/Spectra-Premium-CU1193-Complete-Radiator/dp/B000C7S062/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0M5WF3ZF9FVS7162HB39#productDetails It has really good reviews it seems and is that a quality radiator manufacturer? I know I've heard of Spectra before. Thanks guys. Just wanting to do this right

I mean I have no problems with their shipping being around 5 days usually, I'm in no hurry as my Volvo injectors still have to arrive. The seller, I believe, is Spectra Premiums Amazon dealer so the warranty is 24 month. I also already have an Amazon account. As for the CSF, is there anything better about it than the Spectra? Thanks.
danbyrambler
Been an Amazon member for years myself - Taken advantage of their promos - Ordered lotsa stuff & no problems with "as described", damaged or anything - I did run into a few drop shipped items that took awhile to arrive but just a few - No Amazon complaints/nit picks here. CSF vs Spectra? Dunno if Spectra makes all/some of their radiators - I doubt it - I think they're all imports - low cost being the main reason for my opinion - Thinking back over the last 5 r 6 yr I've had no probs with these plastic/alum types & no bad feedback/death threats from the folks I sold to. I live in SE MO & the USPS service in my little part of the world has always been F'd up & double F'd up since my Green Acres type post office was closed - - This is half of why Jegs/Summit are my go 2s - UPS r FedX delivery & fast - Other half is the easy to use price match I use the retailmenot.com site for everything - - Parts, Tools, Pizza, KFC - everything - - Their app, along with GasBuddy, gets lotsa use on my phone As an aside & JIC: Advance sells packaged heater hose in 2ft lengths for less than by the foot price for same 2ft - On the shelf /Normal store item & way less if ordered online for store pickup & a discount code used Good luck
Knucklehead97
Ordering the radiator now and soon to be checking out the heater hose as well. Hoping to make it to a junkyard soon as well. Thanks guys
