wannabelifted Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Hey all, so I've been searching but I can't seem to find any instructions on how to remove the feul pump to get to my fuel sender unit. anyone have any leads that would be great! Thanks
outlaw star Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Feul?..lol. Ok, there is a lock ring with three small tabs sticking out where it attaches to the tank. Now take a flat head screw driver and butt it up to one of those tabs and tap the back of the handle untill the ring unscrews. Same direction as bolt or screw as well, left loose, right tight. After that slide the whole sending unit/pump assembly out.
johnr Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 check with your local parts store for a new locking ring and seal before you reassemble. as for the sending unit as a whole I'm not sure they are still avalabe so be carful
88ComancheMitch Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Jack car up take skid plate off tank if it's there knock locking ring out by spinning. PB blaster it a few times, maybe twice a day for a few days. this will help alot. pull out and turn pump to avoid damaging float.
