87Chief
I noticed my clutch master cylinder started to leak onto the fuse box, so I went and got a new one. While installing I decided to take the fuse box plug out and clean it and everything. Also, whenever it would rain water would come into the cab from the fuse box. So I took them both out, now, what should I use to 'gasket' the fuse box back on? I know not use regular rtv. Anyone have any suggestions on what brand/what type? With the clutch master cylinder gasket, I can use just rtv, correct? Also, should I replace the rubber hose going down to the transmission when I do the clutch master cylinder? Thanks Planning on going to autozone soon to get the rest of the parts.
ftpiercecracker1
Why can't you use rtv? :???: It would definitely be messy. IMO, I would think just a good silicone would do the job, :dunno: . and that rubber hose your talking about is probably the breather hose, unless it has tears or breaks in it, replacing it would be a waste. Your hydraulic clutch line should be mostly metal, like brake line, but i have seen some jeeps with soft hydraulic lines, either way if its damaged replace it.
