Want A Comanche, Might Have Found, Need Some Advice. (Renault!)

I have been searching for a Comanche lately, a few have missed my grasp by just hours. I need some advice, I have found a clean 86 Diesel. Its mileage if fairly low for the year and the frame has been completely redone and rhino lined. There is a new bed on it and it is almost complete. It needs paint, some interior work, for some reason it sputters at 2500 Rpms but is fine when you push it a bit more. It is a 4x4 and the rear seal leaks a bit. It is around 4k. I do not believe anyone has seen the truck in the forum but I may be wrong. I guess I just need some advice since I also found a RWD Comanche that is 5 hours out for half the price, 4.0 5 speed. Clean frame and body, it sat in a barn for the past 10 years.  Low mileage but i do not know the exact number and I am not sure if there is a clean title.

I really want a 4X4 but the diesel is so elusive that it has my attention. I have no idea how to work on them, not sure what to listen to, nor do I even know if the Renault is reliable!

Help!

Renault's are reliable, ONLY if you know how to work on them.

If you cannot do much past an oil change and brakes, this is not the truck for you.

Look at automan2164 and his build thread on his diesel. We also owned one.

Where is it located, and can you provide pics? I want to make sure it isn't our old one with some new parts....ours had 270k miles on it

It's the lifted one on cl I assume? Different truck then.

To clarify, including that one, there are under 30 known in the continental u.s.

Mine left with a clear title, it is the blue one that can be seen on youtube with all of the rust.
