jahiatt
My radio turns on and I can hear the humming in the speakers, but no stations will pick up . Don't know much about vehicle radios. It worked last week and sounded great. Antenna? Any help??
Guest
Underneath the kick panel on the passenger side, there should be a clump of wires along with a shiny silver connector that plugs into the antenna lead to the mast outside. (One half goes to the radio behind the dash, and the other to mast on the quarter panel, as stated previously) Seperate the two and clean the spring inside. These things seem to attact dirt and dust inside, thereby fouling up radio signal. As always be VERY careful when seperating, as it is an old, delicate piece of technology. tugalo
t If the previous post doesn't cure the problem, remove the radio and plug a 2 ft piece of wire into the antenna connection and try it. If it still doesn't work, the problem could be the pre-amps in the radio, but something in the antenna circuit is the most likely.
Jeep Driver
Or, sometimes 25 year old receivers just quit receiving.
