Jack87 Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 ok guys so i havent been on for a while cause i moved on post :).... so today i went to the dmv to get the truck registered and there was def some shaking going on but not DW just like the steering wheel shaking..... prob tires i think maybe something else ? but my big question is i was driving it back home and was going on an incline and was going about 45 miles( don't really know cause my gauge cluster dosent work :( ) but when i was doing that there was knocking noises coming from under the truck and i swear i could feel it hitting the drivers floor board. not to sure what it could be though so any ideas. like always thanks for any advice. dave92cherokee Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 With the vibes and the knocking on the floor first place I would start checking is the control arm bolts and bushings. Then I'd move to the tracbar and swaybar and make sure everything's tight there. It could also possible be the ujoints in the front drive shaft allowing it to wobble around some and transfer through the axle and into the steering maybe. 54bobby Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 that's just the symtems mine showed. pretty sure I could be the lack of the down pipe support bracket. part is on order. the exhaust is hitting the cross member from time to time. MancheKid86 Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 deff control arm issue with the knocking noises, my shimmable lca mounts (inner bracket to lca frame side) became elongated and would slap back and forth opening the hole bigger over time and wearing out bushings if the steering wheel is shaking you have an imbalance in the front end, check your tires for balance have someone go in the truck and spin the wheel left to right, and watch all the steering components and see if there is any play Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jack87 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Share Posted January 28, 2014 dave92cherokee- ya i looked at my bushing the bolts are new but apperantly when the previous owner got the suspension done he decided not to get the new bushings with them ... 54bobby- and yes bobby my exasut on mine is hitting my crossmeber when i drive as well again old owner was kinda dumb... manchiekid86- i will def take a look at that tomorrow thanks.
