Jacks 87Mj

Recommended Posts

Ok so i just bought this truck about 2 weeks ago for 1500$. It is a 87 Jeep Comanche pioneer, 4.0 Inline 6 with auto trans, 4x4. The guy said he took the engine out of a 91 Cherokee and only has 81K miles on it.... don't know if that is true yet. I have not work on civilian vehicles in a very long time and even when i did i wasn't the best mechanic but i am not afraid to ask questions. I'm sure some of you have already have helped me.

Truck suspension mods

*Rustys 6.5" lift coils

*Rubicon express drop coils
*Rough country adjustable track bar
*Rough country extended brake lines
*Rear is spring over axle with stock shocks/ brackets flipped

So far i really haven't got allot of time in with the MJ but yesterday i replaced the adjustment sleeve for the tie rods then of course did an alignment. replace some fuses. Had to replace both of the headlight sockets because the ground rusted out.Other then that i haven't done to much just normal operation things but can't wait to keep modding her up :).

I ripped out the carpet like everyone suggested and i was glad to see that i did not have that much rust

Congrats on the truck! Seems like you have a decent start, you'll love the Clayton longarms! I had mine for 2.5 years and all bushings/joints are still working good as new, keep at it!

Edit: 31s on a 6.5 lift will look silly, 33s fit and look perfect just sayin B)

Lol yah I am really looking forward to the long arms. Though while I was installing the bilsteins the nut fell off and into that little hole in the frame on the driver side so now I am trying to find a replacement lol but I was able to get a battery that fit so I can now close my hood!! Woo also picked up some sea foam and a new serpentine belt plus all new fluids

ok so  i did get 31s just cause i knew they would work and still needed a budget so i could get my long arms as well( those come in on the 24th!!!) i will snap so photos tomorrow. took out my PS pump today though cause i have been loosing power when steering pretty bad lately and there is a leak so hopefully replacing that will fix that. tomorrow i will be picking that up from orileys and at the same time i am replacing my serpentine belt cause that's old to. question is should i replace the hoses as well. they don't look horrible but there not brand new.

Nice choice with Clayton, neighbor. Once I saw this truck in town I was hoping the owner would find their way to Comanche Club. Nice to see you here.

If you need any help, parts, want to go wheeling, or to simply talk Jeep shoot me a message, the names Brett.
