redwolf624
alright, thanks guys, once i get a chance i'll tackle that bedliner and update yall on it and PFCLeist, try leadin up against a wooden post with an electric fence goin to it for horses, i'll never make that mistake again, have nice thick rubber soles on my boots too, Redwolf Yes, but you did ground yourself as soon as you touched that wooden post, which completed the circuit. Either way, the advice for everyone to take away from this is: Electric fence BAD, haha. indeed it is lol, i think sunday if it's not rainin i'll tackle that bedline, Redwolf

redwolf624
just a thought, could me backin the ground lead bolted to the antenna mount be a factor of high SWRs to where if i put the ground lead inbetween the mount and the bed would the SWRs go down? gogmorgo
Are you asking if you should be sandwiching a ground between the bed and the mount, or sticking the ground on the end of the bolt? If so, then that shouldn't matter so long as you're actually grounding through something, although it wound be better to have the eye of a ground lead against a nut or bolt head. You should have had some form of setup instructions that came with your radio or antenna. Did you follow them? If not, you should probably do that. If so, you might want to do some research into what might cause a high swr issue. This might be a good place to start.

skel130
Yes. That's my recommendation. I believe your issues are very likely due to the eye terminals.
