Tyler's Truck

Recommended Posts

I'll start our Comanche project here. Got this for my 15yo for a dd back and forth to school and a toy for us to go out to hidden falls with.

Mods by PO;

Rustys long travel lift

Woods custom drive shaft with YSE

4:56 in rear 2wd

AW4 with 232(I think) tcase

I traded a dirt bike for this as a father/son project.

Plans;

Front end replacement/ winch bumper being built now

Rear bumper wrap around

Rocker guards

Possible 97+ interior/front end if I find the right deal on one.

I picked this up off Craigslist,

was planning to use the axle and build the 4.0 but after a lot of reading think I might be better off junking this and waiting for a 97-99 and using all the parts off of it. I did install the bucket seats but being the roller style they sit too high so they are going to be temporary until I find something that's a better fit. What do you guys think? With all of your experience would you even mess with the 88xj axle/parts or wait for a 97+? If anyone around Austin wants free or trade for advice parts for this thing message me before I scrap it...

Carpet removed and xj buckets bolted to MJ brackets for fitment.

Plans for this will be 4:56, lockers, good brakes, probably a 258 crank, minor head work, roller rockers, newer tb and injectors, newer interior and a copper color paint with black bumpers/armor etc..

I like where this is going.  8)  With the 4.56 gears and a stroker it will feel like there is a LS1 under the hood.
