swamprat
so i scored this nice 92 MJ, and on the drive home i notice my gauges arent backlit. figured it was a fuse, it was on my last XJ. went and replaced the fuse although it still looked good. its the middle of the day but it doesnt seem to have fixxed the problem. what else could it be? i've read that some YJ folks have the same problem but its the c101 connector, and i might be wrong but i thought HO jeeps didnt have that connector. everything else works, other then the dome lights but i think the bulbs are burnt out. but that shoudnt keep my gauge lights from coming on. -Ian
ftpiercecracker1
Try truning the dimmer switch knob. Does your clock brighten? or if its 4wd does your selector plate light up?
swamprat
Nothing and my hvac isnt lite or cig lighter. I'm going to check the wiring behind the switch and really clean the fuses and make sure there connecting.
ftpiercecracker1
make sure the tabs that hold the fuse arent loose. Also, and this might actually be the problem, there is the all important ground under the dash you will want to check as well. Sitting in the seat normally it should be just above your left knee. You will have to remove the knee board to get to it. Image Not Found 5/16 screw holds it on
