Bmoore2
Hey guys, When I got my shocks the rear shocks (Bilstein 5100) they have a cross pin with 2 holes. My mounts look like I need just a hole. Do I have the wrong shocks or is there a "mount" that I should have. I searched the forums and the internet and it looked like people were having to punch that end out. I really didnt like the sound of that. Big thanks for any info pals!
jimoshel
Sounds like the wrong shock. There is a mounting pin on the spring mount and the frame. The shock fits over these mounting pins so there should only be one hole on each end of the shock.

I don't want to damage the bushing or void my warrenty trying to pull the pin out as it flat on the ends with holes for it to bolt up. Waiting on Kolak to call me back and see what "Mr. Salesman" has to say.
HOrnbrod
What is the Bilstein shock number you are referring to? Front or rear?
Bmoore2
What is the Bilstein shock number you are referring to? Front or rear? Its the rear shock.... I don't have the exact part number because my invoice just says Bilstein Shock for Jeep 6 inch lift. This is exactly what it looks like. 46mm Monotube Shock Absorber (click for more info)
HOrnbrod
That's a ZJ or XJ rear shock. The part number should be stamped on the shock body. If the travel is right, you can press the top bar pin out and use it for the MJ top eye mount.

The front ones fit perfectly. I was just worried about tearing up the bushing pushing the pin out since its kinda wide on the ends. .
Bmoore2
Lube it up and pull the pin is what the salesman told me to do. If we tear up the bushing its a standard 5/8 bushing.
