zackcj7 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 The column in my '86 MJ with manual transmission is bad. A friend gave me a tilt column out of a late '80s XJ. The XJ column is out of an automatic with a floor shifter. This means the column has the shift interlock cable hook-up instead of the lever to lock the ignition. I've read that the interlock can be bypassed but couldn't really find any details on how it is done. If anyone has done this could you let me know how?
