Need Help With Diff Carrier Roll Pin.

Today being a nice day outside I started working on installing my new Aussie locker.

 

I am to the f...... Roll pin and I am stuck. Any advice? So far I have smashed my had hard enough to invoke mild nausea..

 

I have a pin punch set but it seems to be too short.

I use a long screwdriver with the tip ground off.

Tried that, it's now broken off and stuck in the carrier, the pin is almost half way out I think and won't go any farther...

 

I have just about had it with that carrier... My hopes to put in the limited slip carrier to limp it home also failed when the passenger side shaft bearing won't go in.. What's a good indicator that the bearing has killed? The drivers side went in without any issue.
