jimoshel Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I was informed that 1996 42RE can only be swapped for another 1996 42RE. That doesn't seem right to me although knowing Jeep I realize it is possible. It seems to me a '96-'97 should work. Anyone know for sure? :dunno:
alleydog Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I looked up a tranny for a 96 GC 5.2 on Car-Part.com. I found about 200 of them, and every one came out of a 96. Must be some kind of variation in the electrical part of it. I'm curious, I'm gonna see if I can figger it out.
