Infectious Jeep Bug

On the lookout for another Jeep for my old man. He used to have a '93 Red Cherokee back in the late 90s, but he got rid of it after he started the car detailing job in '98. Seems my MJ has rekindled his interest in Jeeps; and he wants one to replace his '86 Pontiac Parisienne. I've found some decent ones down here, but a little out of our price range for the moment.

I was thinking about possibly getting him one for his birthday in January, if I can spare the $. comanche.gif It's a shame I can't get him in on the 4 banger deal. He won't go for it.... He wants the straight 6. I wonder why.. rolleyes.gif

See if you can find a good running 4 banger and arrange for him to drive it. I can't believe in my younger days when I hitched up the horses,,,,er,,,I mean was driving my hot rods if it didn't have a 3,000HP V8 I didn't want it, But now, my DD, a '87 2.5 I love. It does everything I want it to, although sometimes it might take a little longer, Would never trade it for a 6 cyl. Got a '77 J20 for heavy haulin.

Lucky dog. I tried to get my dad to go in half with me on a black J10 for sale 5 miles from me. Was a pretty good looking 84 rig that the guy was desperate to get rid of (ended up selling it for practically nothing because he couldn't take it with him to South C.) but he wouldn't because it had a 360 V8.

He refuses to drive anything with a 4 cylinder, not because it's "uncool" but because him and my mom used to have a Concord back in the 80s with a 258, 4 on the floor. He loves and swears by that motor being the most reliable and easily maintained motor ever made. Can't argue with him on that one. He's even seen that exact same car on the road being driven by the guy he sold it to over 25 years ago. He stopped to talk with him one day and found out that it only had 1 rebuild; and has managed to squeeze out over 425,000 miles on it! Talk about dependable. :chillin: :wrench:
