Oizarod115
so, i bought a new u-joint, given that the last one i bought blew up while installing it and i got the new one all the way in, before realizing that it had no place for clips to go.... ? i've now realized it is a driveshaft u-joint that just happens to come up because its the same exact size. it fits perfectly, but i can't clip it (outside style clips) is there any harm in not clipping it? (is there any harm in shooting the autozone people?)
Oizarod115
well, success! called the guy i worked with there earlier, and then went up there and exchanged for the correct part, 5$ cheaper :brows:, came home, and 30 min later i have a complete pass. axle-shaft assembly that spins about like butter. all in all MUCH better u-jiont experience than last time (for those of you that remember my pilsbury 'womp' biscuit u-jiont cap explosion last time i attempted to change one  )
CEThomas
I know what you mean.. Pulled the front axle on my Ranger to replace the axle joints. Went to Auto Zone and picked up 2 new joints and a press to press the old ones out. Got the old ones out and pressed a new one in and then could not get the clips on. Checked the new one with a old one and everything is the same size except the clip slot is off by 3mm  Charles

Oizarod115
I am very glad it finally went you way!!! GOOD LOB!! CW thanks man! it honestly was about 5000x easier than the last times i've dealt with them, don't know what the difference was? but i even took an origional spicer out of the stub i used, only took about 10 good hits with a 22oz ballpeen. check out my wheelin pics at LAST! 87manche
I feel your pain. I rebuilt my front driveshaft today, and replaced the OTHER u joint in the rear. I've replaced every u-joint on the MJ in the last 3 months.
