8.25 to Dana 44

Recommended Posts

Found an MJ 44 close to home FS. It has my 3.55's already in it and I've wanted one of these since I have learned that they were an option on MJ's.

Question is: When I put it in the MJ will I have to shorten or lengthen my driveshaft to do it? I have a 27 spline 8.25 in the rear now...

D44 does have a longer pinion snout, but since you're lifted around 3" I think you'll be fine with your stock driveshaft, it may even be better than with your 8.25

The D44 is longer than the D35. It is the same as a Chryco 8.25. Your drive shaft will be just fine.
