87Chief
I have searched and couldn't find detailed pics or anything, just wanting to know if anyone out there has a good write up on how to take it out and then reinstall? I took one out of comanche in the junkyard and the cable was still attached, but couldn't get it disconnected from the assembly, so I just cut it. I don't want to do that to mine.. lol Thanks
HOrnbrod
Lol. Suggest you look on Ebay or elsewhere and invest in a factory FSM set for your year model. It contains detailed pics and procedures for everything, and will pay for itself many times over in the first year. Best tool I have.
bighause
You have to loosen the adjuster under the bed of the truck completely to allow enough slack to remove the cable from the pedal assembly
87Chief
Thanks guys! And hornbrod you're right I do need one. I have one for my wrangler, but never thought of getting one For the truck until now... Lol
JeepcoMJ
if the adjuster under the bed is too rusty to move the nut enough, you can always disassemble your drums to allow complete motion of the ebrake...the cables will then be free moving. chances are that you want to inspect your rear brakes anyways if your ebrake is a concern. 87Chief
Ebrake works fine. Just the ratcheting is screwed up.
