Factory build specs of Metric ton I am considering buying

Recommended Posts

As stated in previous post...

So I have found a 89 4X4 4.0L stock Metric Ton with D44 and the upgraded leaf springs and tires/rims. that I am thinking of buying, He bought it new, it has 230,000KM (143,000Mi) immaculate condition. Original paint with mint decals and clear coat. Interior is great as well, no rust.

So I got the factory build specs from the dealer today. I am curious to know if this was a base model or a top of the line. It seems to have loads more features than my 89 Sport truck. I am curious to know if anything really sets this truck apart as the owner is asking premium dollars for it. Any comments are much appreciated. Afterwards I or an admin can move this info into the registration data base.

The SporTruck was the base model. It didn't have cloth seat and it didn't have carpets. You are probably looking at a Pioneer.

Although, with black bumpers and window trim, it may be a Chief.

However, I would not put any faith in what the build sheet reports, because Chrysler recycled a lot of the AMC option codes for other things. I have seen build sheets listing things that were not EVER available on the MJ or XJ, in any year.

This is a pioneer. It has the metric ton badge and from what I can tell it has most of these features from when I went to look at it. Now that you mention the recycled codes I will double check a few of the options. The truck seems legit... I really hope I can make a deal on it. Any one know how many metric/ big tons were produced. I imagine it was a pricey upgrade.
