flyn2er
I have the classic brake/ clutch fluid ate up my box. Found a donor xj, same year. Give me some tips and ideas would be great. Can I just cut the box out and redo the box or do I need the whole interior harness? Any help would be great!!
Eagle
Cut the box out? It should be plug-n-play.
KYMJ
I didn't want to splice A LOT of wires, so I got the dash harness. You'll have to remove the dash to do it. You'll need a flexible screw driver to remove the top panel of the dash. The rest is not too bad, ordinary tools, but I cannot recall the size of the sockets. I originally was going to replace some of the worst connectors in the box, but chose not to. I have plenty of connectors( I can send you a few) if you choose that method. flyn2er
Still up in the air on what to do. Hats off to anyone who has torn a dash apart. PITA ;)
Harley
Just remove the small bolt on the harness and unplug the box. Then remove the 4 screws holding the box to the firewall.
flyn2er
Ok... i cut the box out of the xj with plenty of wire to splice if needed. Cleaned out the box and went to work on the manche. 4 hours later new box is in and working. I did need to splice 5-6 wires.
