Steering Gear Differences

Doing research on steering options...

Says its for a 90+

 

Will this work in a 87 application? Whats the difference? My guess is bolt pattern on the steering box but I don't have a clue.

I recently swapped a steering box from a 2001 Grand Cherokee into a '87 MJ. No problem. Mounting bolt pattern and steering column connector are the same.
