any one use exhaust silencers?

my uncle has a 1991 300ZX and it has dual 4 inch exhaust. we think the last owner hollowed out the muffler and possibly the cat, all we know is it is stupid loud. I just sold the car he was letting me borrow while my jeep is in the shop and now i need another car to use. we don't really have time or money to get a new exhaust put in it at moment. in theory a exhaust silencer attaches to the inside of the exhaust tip and makes the 4 inch hole a 2 inch as well as quiet it down a little.

Only on snomobiles. But a silencer for a sled is the total opposite of silent :chillin:

If you are talking about the slide in silencers,

they're easy,

and they can't hurt. :dunno:

i did it to my greddy exhaust on my xb. used a plug and drilled four small holes in it. let about 65 % of the exhaust through. quieter and goes like smoke.
