ekulrenlig
So, I changed my transmission fluid about two weeks ago, and since then shifting into second gear grinds. It seems to only do it for a while after startup. When I try to shift into second it grinds and feels like I didn't push in the clutch in all the way or something. Why would a fluid change cause this?
Eagle
What did you put in, and how much?
ekulrenlig
About a gallon of diesel fuel. No, umm, Coastal 80W 90 gear oil--around 3.75 quarts.
Eagle
That's the right stuff, but in colder weather with conventional gear oil the second gear synchros are balky. Same is true on the BA10/5 and the AX-15. Synthetic gear oil is supposed to help. Personally, I toss in some Mr. Moly molybdenum disulphide additive and it seems to slick things up fairly nicely.
