Gas tank skid removal help

Hey guys.

Getting started on my gas tank sending unit and I'm removing the skid plate while I can't get one cornor of the skid out. The corner facing diagonally to the passenger seat. It hooks on and is weird. It hits the e brake cable and when I try to push it it won't go far enough because it hits the driveshaft.. Do I need to remove the driveshaft?

I usually pull the ebrake cable to the side, undo the fuel lines and shimmy it out ---
