reddog
OK, my vac lines fell on the exhaust pipe and one or two got melted  , What would these affect being melted? Is it ok to use 4x4 or is going to mess something else up? I noticed my dummy lights don't come on anymore
JOMJ87
Cut what is melted and use fubber hose to reconnect so everything works right. Cole

Eagle
duh :wall: I didnt think of that, thanks. Just curious what do they do? Your front axle has a disconnect in the shaft on the right side. The axle disconnect "motor" is operated by vacuum. One line pulls the sliding collar to the engaged position, the other line pulls it to the disengaged position. Assuming you were in 2WD when the lines melted, you would be able to shift the transfer case into 4WD but the right front axle would be disengaged, so you would effectively still be running in 2WD all the time. I guess that explains my problem too. Never even thought to check there when my 4wd went out, but the lines are melted.
JOMJ87
you can sleeve them with the coragated metal conduit stuff thats about 1" diameter and has flex joints that will help protect itand hold it in a position to keep it from touching exhaust.
