wombat Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I have talked with a couple people about having to brace the body of MJ's for strength during certain applications. anyone know how ( I realize thereisn't just one way) ?what are the methods you used? pics? what reasoning? Thanks Josh
pingpong Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I would look at some of the jeep speed rigs to see what they did. Mostly ppl strengthen the front where the steering mounts, and front suspension mounts, and where the middle of the rig is. I have seen quite a few use 1/8 or 3/16 plate steel with holes cut into it to increas weld area. I used the exo cage approach and truggied it.
87manche Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 head to naxja, do a search on sleeving frame rails You'll see the basic premise, you'll use angle or channel and form it to the uniframe rails, then plug weld the hell out of it to the original. It also provides a very good base to attch rock rails/cage/suspension stuff too.
