jimoshel
I'm replacing the brake pads on the GF '06 Dodge 1500. Not sure, Should I go with semi-metallic or ceramic? Not worried about price, just reliability and performance. Inquiring minds want to know.

Not worried about price, just reliability and performance. Inquiring minds want to know. The more metallic, the longer the pads last, but the quicker they wear the discs. There is usually a middle of the road pad (semi met.) that does a decent job at longevity, but doesn't wear the discs too quickly. Edit: Did a bit more research and it so happens that I got it a bit wrong. Ceramic pads may actually last longer, but should only be used with rotors designed to be used with said pads. They are *supposed* to be quieter... and produce a less obnoxious dust. Meh...
88pioneer
Anytime I've used ceramic they squeal like a mother, I usually use semi metallics.
