mechaincal coolant gauge

Has anyone installed a mechanical temp gauge in a 4.0? the port in the head is too small as well as the drain in the block. I picked up an HO thermostat housing planning to use that port as its the correct size but the the hole is too shollow for the sensor.

They do have different size sensors. Check the Stewart-Warner catalog, or get a helpful autp parts clerk to look in his books.
