closed to open cooling system

Good day

I have been looking around here but cannot find any information on changing to a open cooling system. I am going to get a whole new rad, and already have the tank but I need the valve and need to know if anything ells. I know there has to be some threads on it, I just cannot find them, can someone point me in the right direction.
