Hanson Offroad Rant

I ordered a Hanson MJ rear bumper in early July from NorthRidge 4x4 and am still waiting. It's not holding up my build and my stock bumper is OK for now, so I'll just continue to wait. NorthRidge did charge my credit card and this is the only item on the order that has not arrived to date.

I am considering the MJ version of the Full Traction FTS720601 6" XJ long arm lift. Full Traction is related to Hanson, but I don't expect this kind of delay as this particular lift has been in their offering for a while.

I will check on your order tomorrow. I'm almost certain all the back ordered MJ bumpers are shipping out. We received several from the powder coater late friday after noon. Unfortunetly it was to late to ship them out.

I handle the Full-Traction side of things, I can tell you the 3.5" and 6" Long Arm XJ kits are in stock and can ship the same day. As of now, We can only sell/ship the front half of the kit for the MJ. We have not worked out the rear yet.

your going to have 3.5 LA Kit with a MJ specific PN someday?

I can sell you the front half of the 3.5" Long arm kit. We have not decided what we are going to offer for the rear. I'm trying to decide which direction to go with my MJ either 3.5" or the 6" kit.

Ha! My Hanson bumper came in for my MJ today! Absolutely beautiful crafted. Fit perfectly and installed in less then 30 minutes. Now I'm happy I waited. Took a couple photos after night fall but they don't do it justice. Will take some more tomorrow.

If it were me, I would weld something up to work with the receiver and a trailer connection. I would make it so the plate would mount to a slide in, and have a tag light on it, with a 4 flat connector. When just driving around, have the slide in plate in, and hook it to the trailer harness for the tag light illumination. When towing, remove the plate/mount, and put in the ball/receiver. You won't need the back plate anyway with a trailer.

That's the way I would do it at least. Too purdy a bumper to drill holes in it with a junky looking stock plate mount.

Savvy?

yeah, thats what I thought as well. Its to nice to install a license plate on it. I believe we have a mount that bolts into the D-ring. Let me check with the Hanson guys at work Monday.

Looks nice!!! comanche.gif

Wow, that sounds like a great idea. Now that I have my D rings in and the receiver hole plugged with a Jeep cover I can't bring myself to hang the plate under the bumper. Looks like crap and makes the truck look to low.

On second thought, hang a plate under it to hide that D35 when you look at the truck from the back.
