91coMANche
On my 91 with stock AC, if the compressor comes on when I turn on the AC that means it has level of refrigerant charge? The system wouldn't allow the compressor to come on if it was empty, right?
dasbulliwagen
Correct, you do need pressure in the system for it to turn on, but if its not cooling, it may not be enough pressure to operate properly. I had a full size Dodge doing that today, the compressor came on and off fairly normally, but it wouldnt cool, only had less than half of the amount of refrigerant that it should have had. So you need to check that as well.
91coMANche
Compressor comes on. It's low. What direction turns the low pressure valve open?
HOrnbrod
Compressor comes on. It's low. What direction turns the low pressure valve open? To open = CW. Opposite from a normal valve.
