Jimmy Da Mook
Hi, I Have a 1989 MJ 2wd I6 and recently a thumping and rattling started that I can feel through the floor boards on the drivers side. I thought it may be a bad suspension bushing or possibly a motor or transmission mount but can't find anything visually wrong when I go underneath the truck. It seems to be louder after hitting bumps or turning. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
dakal
a more in depth check of the suspension would be in order. you need some to turn the wheel back and forth with you watching the suspension to see any play. let us know.
littlezeeker
check the rear end if theres a lot of slack in the rear end it could be going out and the vibration travels up the drive shaft and well that where you sit. it will almost sound like a wheel bearing. hope its not but be sure to check to be sure. Rymanrph
I had an issue where my exhaust was touching the transmission cross member. You could try that.
