jimoshel
I am having trouble identifying several Dana axles I have. Having completely cleaned them up, removed all grease dirt an crud down to the bare metal, I cannot find one identifying number on them, Not on the flange, the nose, nowhere. Am I the only person this happens to? My question is can I compare the covers and identify anything? With 8.5, 9.75 and 10.54 ring gears are the covers the same size or do they get bigger with the larger ring gears? I can remove the covers and measure the ring gears but hoping for an easy answer here. :help:
HOrnbrod
No stampings on the axle tubes? Sometimes it's real hard to see.
Incommando
The covers from the D44 and D60 are different size. The factory cover from the D60 and D70 are different sizes BUT they use the same bolt pattern. You can put the physically smaller D60 cover on a D70, and this is done when people shave there D70's. Sorry, I do not have the measurements.
