HOrnbrod
Hey Jeff - can you bring some power up to Arab? We're still dead in the water. We are getting word that some of the surrounding areas that were hit harder than us have restored power, but not the good ol' freaking Mom and Pop power company here. :fs1:

My daughter's about 20 minutes from home here after leaving Tuscaloosa because a tree destroyed the off-campus house she was in with while attending UA. She's been stopped three times by police and Guard troops looking for looters since leaving the I-20 in Birmingham. The scumbags are very active in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham and curfews are in effect. Good to hear the cops and Guard are keeping an eye on things and they have helped her around the detours. Blue88Comanche
Yesterday I left the house at 7:30 am to start collecting donations from out drop off sites and to move everything to the Airport location. This was all the stuff dropped off at just the airport location.. the other location had about half what was here. This is dad's trailer with mostly loaded. And here is my trailer fully loaded. I was not sure how to get where we where going so I used my iPad as a GPS. Every thing was going fine until about half way there when the electrical systems where buging out... :grrrr: But thankfully it was just a loose battery connection. We arrived at the drop off location at about 3 pm and where told to take everything to Temporary Emergency Services. Well because there was not a drive around at the church i had to back out with the trailer... the guy there thought that i did not know how to back up a trailer.... So I then backed the trailer in a nice straight line as far as I needed to go... that managed to quiet him up. :rotfl2: So we then drove to the T.E.S. location where they unloaded every thing in 5 min... HOrnbrod
Another small one touched down this afternoon and dropped tree on one of our damn power company substations knocking out power for about five hours. What sane power company would have giant trees growing within 500' of a major substation in a tornado prone area? This is getting tiresome.... Freaking morons........ :fs1:
