MJSETH Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 ok I'm not an amateur to building jeeps especially XJs but I am stumped when it comes to comanche suspension. whats the difference between the two as far as rear suspension? Seth
Motion Offroad Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 MJ is SUA from the factory. MJ rear leafs are a different length (longer) as well as a different arch. MJ rear shackle's are different (longer). MJ perch width on axle is at different width. MJ shocks mount from the axle plate and not from the axle itself like the XJ's.
MJSETH Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 thanks I'm possibly pickin up an 86 this week and wanna get some info. I'm thinkin about swapping over my suspension onto it... but apparently rear leafs and shackles won't work....
mnkyboy Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Don't know how big your XJ lift is, but a simple SOA on the MJ will get you 5-6" of lift in the rear
