question about a yj 4.2 02 sensor

hoping someone here has an answer, i hate asking anything on JF cause you get so many different answers your usually more confused after asking than you were before you asked.

on a 89 yj with the 4.2 engine what does the 02 sensor control? my thinkng was it would effect the fuel somewhere in the carb

but the carter was changed out for a weber so that wouldnt be the case anymore right? does it have anything to do with the

spark advance at the distrubitor maybe? i was thinking the distrubitor was vacuum advance but can't remember.

having a problem on my gf's wrangler seems to run on sometimes and then sometimes wanna stall out at idle

The O2 sensor was used by the computer only to help control the Carter carb.
