aemsee
How about using some nice red oak :D . Seriously, people will need to know what you plan on using the bumper for. Just looks, winch mount, tow hooks etc. Do you have access to a welder?
feerocknok
If you want to see some bumpers: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... ht=bumpers As for metals, 3/16" and 1/4" thick seems to be common with some beef around the steering box being nice. Depends what your plans are for the use (winch, extraction points, or just appearance), so find something you like, and we can try to help you out. feerocknok
I didn't realize Pong had a normal bumper till just now, lol. It appears that that bumper can be found here: http://www.rigidco.com/FbW.htm I'm not sure if you buy direct from the company or have to go through a dealer, maybe Pong'll chime in. I'm guessing it's $400+.
pingpong
I bought it right from Rigid CO about 2 yrs ago. The bull bar part was built by Matt at Independent 4X. THe only down side to the FBW is it really hurts your approach angle. More then likely I will be pulling mine off and building me a shorty bumper here soon. The mounting system on The FBW is awesome and so are the directions that come with it.
